About the position

The Project Engineering Supervisor at Wenger Corporation plays a crucial role in ensuring that engineering projects are completed on time and within budget. This hybrid position requires a balance of remote work and on-site presence at the Owatonna, MN facility. The supervisor will lead a team of engineers, providing mentorship and guidance while fostering an environment of trust and autonomy. The role emphasizes effective team leadership, project management, and the development of innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Lead Engineer on major projects, responsible for technical aspects of mechanical designs.
• Review and analyze incoming projects to determine scope of work and resources needed.
• Maintain capacity schedule for the team and report progress to management.
• Create product layouts and direct the manufacturing of custom products.
• Work with Project Management to generate complete drawings and calculations according to project schedules.
• Support training for new engineers in design and application of company products.
• Supervise a team of engineers and designers, administering reviews and performance management.
• Identify non-conformities and initiate corrective action reports as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or 5 years equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of industry products and processes, with emphasis on new technology developments.
• Demonstrated commitment to effective team leadership and coordination of team metrics.
• Ability to conceptualize and formulate design solutions under time and financial constraints.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience scoping and assigning projects.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
