About the position

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall management of operations and administration of assigned projects, ensuring bottom line profit accountability. This role involves overseeing project planning, execution, and closeout, while maintaining compliance with company policies and standards. The Senior Project Manager will lead project teams, manage client relationships, and ensure timely progress payments and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all essential Senior Project Manager responsibilities
  • Review and approve all estimates and schedules for assigned projects
  • Facilitate job turnover process from estimating to project team
  • Supervise subcontract bidding and negotiations
  • Approve all subcontracts and major material purchase orders
  • Review contract terms and conditions and assist in contract negotiations
  • Lead project planning and conduct job start meetings
  • Ensure scheduling procedures are followed
  • Maintain cost control in accordance with company standards
  • Lead and supervise project mobilization and job setup
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and oversee construction personnel
  • Supervise project team activities for compliance with policies and standards
  • Make periodic job visits and report status to Operations Manager
  • Maintain positive cash flow and ensure timely progress payments
  • Ensure timely job closeout and management reports
  • Ensure compliance with job descriptions and conduct performance evaluations
  • Maintain client contact on current projects
  • Work with Business Development to develop client relationships
  • Attend proposal presentations and assist in preparation of materials
  • Assist Division Manager in non-operating functions
  • Monitor and manage bottom line profit of assigned projects
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of field construction management experience, including supervisory skills
  • Strong leadership ability
  • Problem-solving ability and strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Drafting and computer skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
  • Thorough understanding of project management control systems

Nice-to-haves
