About the position

Itron, Inc. is seeking a Project Finance Manager to join our team in Liberty Lake, Washington. This role is pivotal in managing a portfolio of large contracts, ensuring that all financial aspects are meticulously handled from contract execution to closure. The Project Finance Manager will perform a full range of contract and program administrative functions, coordinating closely with sales to transition contracts from the pipeline to backlog upon execution. This position requires the creation of comprehensive contract summaries that serve as reference points for various internal teams, ensuring that all project legal documents, such as letters of credit, insurance policies, and bonds, are in place and compliant with contractual obligations. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and tracking all contractual requirements, which include monitoring project progress, managing invoicing and receivables, and ensuring compliance with warranties and reporting requirements. Additionally, the Project Finance Manager will create and manage revenue and cost forecasts/budgets for customer contracts, review and validate backlog against total contract value, and handle invoicing services while procuring necessary backup documentation as per contract requirements. This role also involves acting as the first escalation point for any invoice disputes, working collaboratively with customers to resolve issues, and creating supplier purchase orders related to assigned projects. In this dynamic position, the Project Finance Manager will draft revenue for services and provide essential documentation for month, quarter, and year-end close processes. The role requires effective communication of forecast variances and project status changes, as well as support for delivery with ad hoc projects and customer requests. Responsibilities

  • Perform full range of contract and program administrative functions for a portfolio of large contracts.
  • Coordinate with sales to transition pipeline to backlog upon contract execution.
  • Create contract summary as a reference point for all financial aspects to be used by various internal teams.
  • Ensure project legal documents, such as letters of credit, insurance policies, and bonds, are in place.
  • Identify and track all contractual requirements, including project progress, invoicing, receivables, warranties, and reporting requirements.
  • Create and manage revenue and cost forecasts/budgets for customer contracts within your portfolio.
  • Review and validate backlog to total contract value.
  • Responsible for invoicing services and procuring backup documentation per contract requirements.
  • Act as first escalation point when invoices are disputed and work with customers to resolve.
  • Create supplier purchase orders related to assigned projects and coordinate payment with Accounts Payable.
  • Draft revenue for services and provide month/quarter/year end close documentation/support.
  • Track and communicate forecast variances and project status changes.
  • Support Delivery with ad hoc projects and customer requests.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years processing large complex contracts from execution to closure.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and manage concurrent projects in a self-motivated/driven fashion.
  • Familiar with typical legal and project delivery requirements defined in contracts along with standard contract concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical skills including ability to recognize and assess impacts on project financials.
  • Strong Excel knowledge.
  • Oracle and Salesforce experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
