As a Project Geotechnical Engineer at GeoEngineers, you will play a pivotal role in managing some of the most exciting and technically challenging projects in the Baton Rouge area. Our geotechnical team is involved in a diverse range of projects spanning transportation, energy, development, and natural resources. Your responsibilities will encompass planning field programs, conducting technical briefings with field staff, and managing project tasks that include budgeting and client communications. You will also be tasked with performing engineering analyses and preparing comprehensive technical reports, alongside conducting regular site visits, overseeing field explorations, and making construction observations. In your capacity as a project manager, you will be responsible for mentoring and supervising the work of junior staff, ensuring that they are well-trained and equipped to contribute effectively to project goals. Your essential duties will include leading or coordinating the development and implementation of field exploration programs and construction observation projects. You will ensure that all work performed aligns with project plans and specifications, adhering to safety guidelines at all times. Additionally, you will assist in training junior technical and technician staff, complete engineering analyses and calculations, and develop moderately complex conceptual models. You will also be responsible for generating technical reports, including routine reports, figures, and tables, while assisting senior staff in completing portions of larger, more complex reports. Supporting project management tasks such as budget planning, field report reviews, and proposal development will also be part of your role, as you manage small projects under the supervision of a certified professional engineer or geologist as required.
