About the position

At Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Technology & Digital, we are dedicated to creating world-class immersive digital experiences for our premier vacation brands, including Disney's Parks & Resorts, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club. The Technology & Digital team plays a crucial role in managing the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience across various business lines, including Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise. This includes initiatives like MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney! The Lead Technical Program/Project Manager will be responsible for identifying, planning, and coordinating a set of related projects within a program, managing their interdependencies to support specific business strategies across the Commerce Technology Portfolio and Program. This role is part of the 3PO Team, which focuses on program/project technical management, financial management, and program strategy, collaborating with Technology, Product, and Design teams to achieve our strategic objectives. This is a 24-month Project Hire/Internal Assignment and is a hybrid role based in Orlando, FL. The Lead Technical Program/Project Manager will drive program/project deliverables, develop strategic planning and prioritization for S/VP portfolios, and establish deliverables for key finance milestones. They will facilitate evaluations and alignments on the delivery of rationalized and prioritized S/VP program inputs to forecasts, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to executives. The role also involves producing monthly expense and capital forecasts, maintaining a continuous view of resource demand and capacity, and fostering partnerships with leaders and teams to collaborate on project deliverables. The Lead Technical Program/Project Manager will engage with a diverse set of team members and executive partners to align business strategies with technology solutions, manage execution of program/project objectives, and ensure timely completion of tasks. They will conduct program meetings, develop a project change control process, and communicate effectively with stakeholders to gain support for the program.

Responsibilities

  • Drives program/project deliverables and develops strategic planning for S/VP portfolios.
  • Facilitates evaluation and alignment on the delivery of rationalized and prioritized S/VP program input to forecasts.
  • Identifies risks and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to executives.
  • Produces monthly expense and capital forecasts and delivers financial updates.
  • Maintains a continuous view of resource demand and capacity across the program.
  • Liaises with various teams to communicate financials and objectives effectively.
  • Recommends prioritization and rationalization decision-making with leaders.
  • Establishes and maintains a Technology and Digital roadmap in partnership with area leaders.
  • Coordinates and facilitates delivery of program objectives, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Leads and directs high-priority matrix projects, conducting program meetings at leadership levels.
  • Develops and manages a project change control process to ensure scope adherence.
  • Communicates with clients and stakeholders to solicit input and improve the program.
  • Creates program presentations and reports for executive leadership.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Program/Project management experience (Project Lead, SCRUM Master, Agile Coach) with technical teams developing enterprise class solutions.
  • Technical project management expertise for global or national brands, working closely with technology, creative, and user experience teams.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall methodologies and blending styles for collaboration.
  • Ability to understand architectural and technical aspects of projects.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with Agile Application Lifecycle Management tools like JIRA and Confluence Wiki.
  • Understanding of Agile technical practices, DevOps, and testing concepts (CI/CD, TDD).
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring teams on project management practices.
  • Experience with budget tracking and complex cost-benefit analysis.
  • Ability to influence negotiations and drive complex forecasts and capacity plans.
