About the position

The Project HSE Lead at TechnipFMC is responsible for promoting a positive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture within Subsea projects across the Gulf of Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago, and Guyana. This role involves developing, implementing, and administering effective HSE programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leading incident investigations. The position requires a dedicated professional to support the HSE Manager/Director and contribute to the overall safety and environmental management of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and support an HSE culture by leading the implementation of core HSE programs, policies, and initiatives.
  • Oversee tendering for Subsea projects.
  • Participate in incident investigations and advise on specialist areas such as fire regulations and hazardous substances.
  • Assist with case management and follow up on occupational injuries/illnesses.
  • Coach employees on risk assessments and safety improvement opportunities.
  • Create and modify HSE policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Act as a steward for environmental management including SWPPP, RCRA, and SPCC.
  • Review bid tender specifications and submit bid HSE deliverables to the bid coordinator.
  • Develop all project HSE document deliverables including HSE Plan and Emergency Response Plan.
  • Monitor regulatory compliance through site assessments.
  • Train, monitor, and coach employees to improve adherence to HSE principles and standards.
  • Lead or facilitate incident investigations and guide the team on using the TOPSET tool.
  • Develop KPI reports and facilitate HAZID workshops to control hazards and mitigate risks.
  • Prepare documentation and communications such as KPI reports and project management review reports.
  • Monitor and report on the closeout of actions from audits, site visits, and incident investigations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • At least five years of related SURF project operational experience or HSE experience in SURF Projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Federal, State, and Local HSE regulations (OSHA, BSEE, SEMS, TCEQ, EPA).
  • Ability to identify deviations from standards.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills related to functional areas.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Subject matter expertise in HSE programs such as Incident Investigation and Reporting, Risk Assessment, and Root Cause Analysis.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified lead auditor in HSE programs.
  • Experience with Hazard Identification (HAZID) or Hazard Operability (HAZOP) studies.
