About the position

The Project Implementation Engineer plays a crucial role in the deployment of new Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems, ensuring that customer requirements are met effectively. Under the general supervision of the Project Implementation Manager, this position involves direct communication with customers to facilitate system implementation tasks. The engineer will work closely with various departments and key personnel to discuss initial system design, features, capabilities, and the implementation schedule. This role requires a hands-on approach, including the installation, programming, and configuration of two-way radio system components, repeaters, receive multicopper, combiners, antenna systems, power systems, and dispatch equipment for both P25 and Analog LMR systems. In addition to installation, the engineer will be responsible for configuring, testing, and aligning duplexers and other RF subsystem devices. They will set up and utilize testing equipment to complete device setups and conduct system tests. Quality analysis of site installations is also a key function, where the engineer will document any areas of nonconformance. The preparation of system implementation drawing packages, site installation reports, and site acceptance test reports is essential to ensure that all aspects of the project are documented accurately. The engineer will also perform system coverage testing and interpret circuits, wiring, and system diagrams or schematics. The role requires a proactive attitude, as the engineer will be expected to accept and complete special assignments and projects as directed.
