As an Industrial Engineer in manufacturing engineering at Lutron, you will contribute to high-stakes projects from the start. Industrial Engineers in manufacturing engineering at Lutron participate within a cross-functional team to conceptualize, design, and develop innovative, high-quality consumer products and services for commercial and residential use. There are a variety of technical areas throughout the product lifecycle that you could encounter from day one, such as assembly process development and optimization, including time studies, production line balancing, and workcell design to efficiently meet customer demand. You will also be involved in the development and effective documentation of standard work procedures (SOPs) and other process documentation, as well as requirements specification for tooling and workstations related to ergonomics, methods engineering, process efficiency, and quality. You will use industry tools such as Timer Pro and FlexSim to simulate, analyze, and prescribe the production process during development and post-launch. Project management skills will be essential, particularly as related to coordinating efforts between engineering, quality, operations, and manufacturing plant. Additionally, you will collect and analyze data from global manufacturing sites to drive continuous improvement and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with product design and tooling teams to design consumer products and processes for manufacturability.
  • Use industry standard tools to develop, analyze and document manufacturing processes.
  • Execute assembly line design and process development to meet labor and quality goals.
  • Support production of new products by driving resolution to issues and implementing improvements, from prototype builds through transfer to a long-term facility.
  • Collect and analyze process capability data for presentation to key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for each degree earned
  • 0-3 years' experience in a related field
