About the position

The Project Instructional Designer at Princeton Theological Seminary is responsible for developing engaging and effective learning experiences tailored for diverse learners. This role involves collaboration with subject matter experts and multimedia specialists to design innovative educational solutions that align with the Seminary's goals. The position is project-based, typically lasting 3-4 months, and focuses on creating instructional materials for various learning formats.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify content requirements and learning objectives for courses.
  • Design and develop instructional materials, including online courses and multimedia resources.
  • Utilize instructional design methodologies to create learner-centered experiences.
  • Develop detailed design documents, milestones, and prototypes for educational content.
  • Select appropriate instructional strategies and tools to enhance learning.
  • Develop assessments to measure learning outcomes and provide feedback.
  • Create facilitator guides for effective delivery of learning materials.
  • Ensure all content is ADA compliant and accessible to diverse learners.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of learning solutions.
  • Provide guidance to SMEs on instructional strategies and technologies.
  • Promote open communication and collaboration within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in instructional design or curriculum design.
  • Proficiency in instructional design software and learning management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to document progress accurately in project management tools.
  • Creativity in designing engaging learning experiences.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
