About the position

SAIC is seeking a Project Integration Engineer to support the Space Systems Command at Kirtland AFB, NM. This role involves overseeing all information technology aspects of ground system integration and maintenance, working closely with engineers and technicians to ensure mission success. The engineer will design and implement technology solutions, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system efficiency, playing a crucial role in the operation of space systems.

Responsibilities

• Support and oversee all IT aspects of ground system integration and maintenance.
• Work with cross-functional teams to develop, integrate, maintain, and retire legacy satellite ground systems.
• Create Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Change Control Board (CCB) presentations to document requirements and propose implementation strategies.
• Create and maintain system documents such as Interface Control Documents and network topologies.
• Integrate and test supporting space ground systems hardware and software from various vendors.
• Draft and maintain supporting plans and procedures such as system test plans and implementation plans.
• Develop and maintain implementation and test schedules with the customer.
• Advise the customer on test strategies for ground system integration and testing.
• Integrate and test mobile ground systems supporting SV Factory Compatibility Test (FCT).
• Collaborate with cyberspace engineers to develop and maintain a secure network.
• Ensure compliance with approved system engineering methods and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field and 9 years of technical experience, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active Top Secret or DoE Q clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Minimum 3 years' direct experience in space systems or equivalent relevant disciplines.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite and strong communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Project Management fundamentals with a focus on building schedules.
• Familiarity with ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 and the DoD Systems Engineering Guidebook.
• Familiarity with IT Cloud Fundamentals.
• Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Familiarity with firewalls, cryptographic hardware, databases, and virtualization technologies.
• CompTIA Security + or equivalent certification.
