About the position

At Corgan, we are passionate about great design, but the best thing we build is each other. We are actively recruiting a dynamic Project Interior Designer to join our Aviation team. In this role, you will tackle various responsibilities alongside a team of creative, highly motivated individuals who are passionate about their work and ready to collaborate to achieve outstanding results. Our ideal team member is someone who is passionate and progressively seeking more responsibilities to expand their expertise. You will coordinate all phases of the design process in full life cycle projects, generating creative design solutions within the functional parameters of each project. You will be responsible for translating concepts and information into images, executing the process of preparing and completing usable construction document detailing solutions, and coordinating the selection of materials, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment. Additionally, you will manage contract administration responsibilities and assist with the creation and management of project schedules. Your role will also involve developing and presenting appropriate technical solutions to stakeholders, leading project studio team members, and leveraging their strengths while providing mentorship. As a Project Interior Designer, you will work proactively to resolve issues that arise between project, design, and technical objectives in coordination with the Project Manager. You will execute the coordination and integration of architectural and consultant documents, seeking innovation in design solutions with an ongoing spirit of curiosity and increased project performance. It is essential to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate industry standards and construction practices while applying knowledge of construction methods and timelines. You will maintain awareness of, and appropriately apply, new methodologies, practices, codes, and products, and attend and conduct presentations to manage client relations effectively.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Degree from a CIDA accredited Interior Design program or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial design; aviation experience strongly preferred
  • Display strong design portfolio showing strengths in conceptual design, space planning skills, and detailing
  • Revit proficiency and technical excellence
  • Thorough understanding of how a drawing set goes together
  • Acumen for how things are built and constructability, and the ability to apply that knowledge to support the project design and budget
  • General understanding of building and accessibility codes
  • Experience coordinating with a variety of consultants and contractors
  • Interest in sustainable design
