About the position
The Project Lead at MITRE Corporation will provide strategic and technical leadership in support of Homeland Security sponsors, focusing on operational support and systems engineering. This role involves engaging with senior leaders, shaping project work, and coordinating efforts across various teams to address critical mission challenges. The Project Lead will also mentor junior staff and ensure the delivery of high-quality technical products.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and technical leadership as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
- Develop and define tasks and project outcomes aligned with the sponsor's priorities.
- Coordinate across the sponsor and MITRE enterprises to achieve beneficial outcomes.
- Identify and develop diverse staff skill sets to solve challenging problems.
- Engage with leaders to identify staffing needs and develop remediation plans.
- Work closely with government personnel and MITRE Project Leaders for collaboration.
- Leverage MITRE's IRAD programs for additional impact to the sponsor.
- Ensure technical products meet MITRE's standards of excellence.
- Develop, execute, and track staffing, financial, and delivery plans.
Requirements
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience.
- Understanding of the USSS or other LE sponsor environment.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills, including technical presentation skills.
- Experience leading a small-size multi-disciplined team.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain trusted sponsor relationships.
- Must have an active TOP SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI Clearance.
Nice-to-haves
- Two or more years' experience supporting USSS or LE sponsors.
- A Master's degree in a relevant technical field, such as Systems Engineering or Intelligence Analysis.
