About the position

The Project Lead for Software Development at ValueLabs is responsible for orchestrating collaboration among application teams, addressing database performance issues, and leading a dynamic team of engineers. This role involves strategic planning, execution of data modeling, and providing technical guidance to ensure optimal database performance and operational efficiency. The Project Lead will also conduct performance reviews, manage on-call rotations, and initiate proof of concepts for new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate collaboration with application teams, reviewing JIRA requests and task assignments.
• Pinpoint and address database bottlenecks, especially related to performance of database clusters, and create stories to rectify issues.
• Understand new requirements, plan and execute data modeling for databases.
• Deliver Level 3 support for database performance challenges.
• Conduct performance reviews for the team, guiding personal and professional growth.
• Strategize and coordinate on-call rotations, especially during peak holiday seasons.
• Initiate proof of concepts (POCs) to explore cutting-edge tools and technologies.
• Spearhead daily stand-up calls to gather team updates and offer technical guidance.
• Generate JIRA requests outlining requirements for new clusters, assigning tasks systematically.
• Build and lead dynamic teams by aligning recruitment efforts with forecasted workloads.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a directly related field.
• Five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer or related occupation.
• Five (5) years of experience in MongoDB administration and development.
• Four (4) years of experience in AWS, Linux Admin, Ansible, Terraform, and DevOps.
• Four (4) years of experience in Splunk.
• Three (3) years of experience in ScyllaDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Shell Scripting.
