About the position

MTSI is seeking a Project Management Analyst and Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you will provide specialized project management support to Space Systems Command (SSC) in its mission to sustain and modernize the Satellite Control Network (SCN). This position is critical as the SCN provides highly reliable telemetry, tracking, command, communication, and control (TT&C3) for more than 170 Department of Defense (DoD), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), civil, and allied satellites. You will be expected to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, contributing to innovative solutions while demonstrating personal leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail. Your essential job functions will include providing general project support, which encompasses attending meetings, taking notes, drafting documents, maintaining schedules, printing briefs, creating binders, tracking action items, and other duties as assigned. You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to verify project requirements and ensure project goals are met. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff, collect and normalize data, interpret results to generate multiple recommended courses of action, and ensure consistent submission of high-quality products to the Government. Clear and concise communication, both oral and written, is essential in this role, as you will be conveying complex issues to various levels of leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management support to the Government Project Officer (GPO) for Battle Management Command, Control & Communications Sustainment (BCS) programs.
  • Attend meetings, take notes, draft documents, maintain schedules, print briefs, create binders, and track action items.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to verify project requirements and ensure project goals are met.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff.
  • Collect, normalize, and input data; interpret results to generate multiple recommended courses of action.
  • Implement instructions and policies into routine performance to foster efficiency in day-to-day activities.
  • Ensure consistent submission of high-quality products to the Government.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy—both orally and in writing.

Requirements

  • At least three years of relevant experience performing project management for the Government (military and/or civil servant), federally funded research and development center, or development Contractor.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university relevant to their area of expertise, such as Management, Business, Acquisition, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Technology, Engineering, or Operations Research.
  • Journeyman level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the use of an electronic government authorized information management system, collaboration portal, or integrated data environment (IDE).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD SECRET clearance as a condition of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in the SCN.
  • Experience with Advisory and Assistance Service (A&AS), or System Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) to a Government program office.
  • Experience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programs.
  • Experience with Space Systems Command (SSC) acquisition.
