About the position

The position at CoolSys involves leading, training, and mentoring the EMS project crew to ensure efficient and timely completion of HVAC and refrigeration projects. The role requires effective communication with tradespeople, project management, and adherence to safety standards while promoting teamwork and productivity within the crew.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and fosters teamwork within the EMS project crew, monitoring project progress and directing the crew toward optimal productivity and workplace safety.
  • Provides support on EMS jobs by programming controllers, installing conduit, running cable, and wiring up refrigeration equipment, HVAC, RTUs, and lighting.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and on budget, communicating any schedule or budget changes with the Project Manager.
  • Performs other related duties and projects assigned by account management, including parts and material ordering and procurement.
  • Maintains daily/weekly communication with account managers, facility managers, superintendents, and engineering staff.
  • Must be able to travel to projects across the US, arrange their own travel accommodations, and submit accurate expense reports in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of high voltage electrical power systems (115V, 208V, 460V, single and 3 phase systems).
  • Knowledge of low voltage control circuits, network architecture, and Ethernet.
  • Operational knowledge of EMS boards, modules, and sensors.
  • Ability to read and understand power and control circuit diagrams.
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial HVAC, exhaust and ventilation systems, construction, and installation.
  • Knowledge of supermarket refrigeration systems, control valves and circuits, variable frequency drives (VFDs), refrigerant pressures, and hazards.
  • Understanding of refrigerated product integrity and risk or product loss liabilities.
  • Skill in computer programs, such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to navigate laptop computers for accessing on-site controllers.
  • Ability to access search engines and websites for products, equipment, specifications, and data sheets.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain team productivity.
  • Maintain a high level of safety consciousness regarding hazards to self, co-workers, and other trades within the job site and facility.
