About the position

The position at CoolSys involves leading and mentoring the EMS project crew, ensuring efficient project completion through effective communication and delegation of responsibilities. The role requires a strong understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems, as well as the ability to manage project schedules and budgets. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering teamwork, maintaining safety standards, and providing technical support on various EMS projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and mentor the EMS project crew.
  • Prioritize and delegate responsibilities among team members.
  • Communicate effectively with tradespeople on job sites.
  • Track project schedules to ensure timely completion.
  • Program controllers and install necessary equipment for EMS jobs.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, communicating any changes to the Project Manager.
  • Order and procure parts and materials as needed.
  • Maintain daily/weekly communication with account managers and facility managers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, and trade or technical school classes with certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction or related industry.
  • Knowledge of high voltage electrical power systems (115V, 208V, 460V, single and 3 phase systems).
  • Knowledge of low voltage control circuits and network architecture.
  • Operational knowledge of EMS boards, modules, and sensors.
  • Ability to read and understand power and control circuit diagrams.
  • Understanding of commercial HVAC, exhaust, and ventilation systems.
  • Knowledge of supermarket refrigeration systems and control valves.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with variable frequency drives (VFD's) and refrigerant pressures.
  • Skill in using computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to navigate laptop computers for accessing on-site controllers.
