About the position

The EMS Project Lead at CoolSys is responsible for leading, training, and mentoring the EMS project crew while ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, accurately, and on time. This role involves prioritizing and delegating responsibilities, communicating with tradespeople on job sites, and tracking project schedules. The position requires a strong focus on teamwork, safety, and maintaining project quality within budget constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes and fosters teamwork within the EMS project crew, monitoring project progress and directing the crew toward optimal productivity and workplace safety.
  • Provides support on EMS jobs by programming controllers, installing conduit, running cable, and wiring up refrigeration equipment, HVAC, RTUs, and lighting.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and on budget, communicating any schedule or budget changes with the Project Manager.
  • Performs other related duties and projects assigned by account management, including parts and material ordering and procurement.
  • Maintains daily/weekly communication with account managers, facility managers, superintendents, and engineering staff.
  • Arranges travel accommodations for projects across the US and submits accurate expense reports in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of high voltage electrical power systems (115V, 208V, 460V, single and 3 phase systems).
  • Knowledge of low voltage control circuits, network architecture, and Ethernet.
  • Operational knowledge of EMS boards, modules, and sensors.
  • Ability to read and understand power and control circuit diagrams.
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial HVAC, exhaust and ventilation systems, construction, and installation.
  • Knowledge of supermarket refrigeration systems, control valves and circuits, variable frequency drives (VFDs), refrigerant pressures, and hazards.
  • Understanding of refrigerated product integrity and risk of product loss liabilities.
  • Skill in computer programs, such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to navigate a laptop computer for accessing on-site controllers.
