About the position

The Project Manager 2 position at HII's Mission Technologies division involves overseeing and managing the operational aspects of ongoing projects related to Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR). The role requires ensuring the readiness, installation, operations, maintenance, and leadership of personnel across multiple sites, while also serving as a liaison between project management and site lead management. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing operational plans and procedures to ensure the timely and secure completion of communications projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects.
  • Serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and site lead management.
  • Responsible for coordination and logistics support for the installation of equipment and engineering requirements.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Customer, Contractors and Sub-Contractors.
  • Regularly briefs senior government civilian and contracted program management personnel on all assigned Department requirements, products, concerns, readiness, construction projects, future operations, planning, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with a Master's in a related field; or High School Diploma/equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Experience in contract/work package development.
  • Experience with Navy's Maintenance & Material Management (3M) program.
  • Experience in electronic maintenance.
  • Technical competence in communications, cryptographic, electronic and/or electrical fields while understanding safety and security measures.
  • Experience communicating with government and military customers.
  • Must have a current or active DoD top secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in operations management and watch floor operations highly desired.
  • Experience managing disparate locations preferred.
  • Experience with managing power safety programs highly desired.
  • Experience with multi-platform provisioning platforms.
  • Experience in writing/directing policies, procedures, and documents, preferably related to Navy policies.
