About the position

The Project Manager (Agile/Scrum) at The Walt Disney Studios will oversee various projects and initiatives within the Program Management & Enabling Technologies team. This role involves leading operational and growth initiatives, managing project data, and ensuring effective communication and reporting of project status to stakeholders. The position requires a strong background in technical project management, particularly in agile methodologies, and aims to enhance production technology and operational efficiency in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational and growth initiatives from end-to-end, including gathering requirements and defining scope, schedule and resourcing for the technology team.
  • Lead agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint closing, and retrospectives.
  • Manage the project data in JIRA and Smartsheet.
  • Manage tasks and resources through waterfall, scrum, or kanban methodologies.
  • Ensure clear reporting of project status from project management team including timelines, milestone tracking, budget status and issue identification to program management and stakeholders.
  • Prioritize and escalate critical operational tasks, execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Work with program management to assess and define technology roadmaps with key deliverables and milestone dates.
  • Maintain KPI dashboards related to program metrics via MS Power BI.
  • Apply analytics and critical thinking to identify team inefficiencies and risk areas, and implement projects or processes to streamline and improve operations.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

Requirements

  • 3 to 7 years of experience in Technical Project Management, utilizing waterfall and agile methodology.
  • 4 plus years of experience managing and developing teams to meet expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in managing technical operations teams (i.e., infrastructure engineers, software developers).
  • Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks and organizing work effectively.
  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills and effective team player.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet and Jira.
  • Strong ability to develop and present business cases via PowerPoint or Keynote.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to create workflow drawings and process maps utilizing Visio.
  • Must have strong agile/scrum skills, acting as the scrum master - assigning the Jira tickets, managing the quality, owning the scrum ceremonies directly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience working in a Content Production environment.
  • Previous experience working in product management or delivering products and applications.
  • PMP certification a plus.
  • Certified Scrummaster a plus.
