About the position

As a Project Manager (Agile) within the Department of the Treasury, you will play a pivotal role in the Office of Payment Integrity Solutions, Analytics, and Technology Division. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, plan, and accomplish project goals while performing thorough research and analysis to support various projects. You will also be tasked with identifying and resolving project-related problems, ensuring that all project objectives are met efficiently and effectively. This position requires a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, as you will act as a deputy product owner, bridging the gap between customers, business stakeholders, and the development team. You will guide the software development process towards a long-term vision, utilizing shorter solutions and Agile practices to enhance project outcomes. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of both business and technical environments. You will create detailed project plans, set priorities, and establish deadlines for the completion of work. Additionally, you will assign and distribute tasks among team members based on these priorities and deadlines. Proactive communication is key; you will need to identify, communicate, and resolve any project issues and risks that may interfere with successful project execution. Your ability to lead discussions, present objectives, and persuade various audiences will be crucial in achieving project goals and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a deputy product owner, bridging the gap between customers, business stakeholders, and the development team.
  • Guide the development of software projects using Agile methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of business and technical environments.
  • Create project plans, set priorities, and establish deadlines for project completion.
  • Assign and distribute tasks among team members based on project priorities and deadlines.
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and resolve project issues and risks that may affect project success.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent in the Federal service directly related to the position.
  • Experience applying Agile project management methodologies, procedures, techniques, and tools.
  • Experience leading forums, discussions, or presentations to discuss objectives and persuade various audiences.
  • Experience formulating, justifying, and monitoring the execution of budget plans for program implementation.
  • Experience utilizing program and project management guidelines such as PMIAA or PMBOK.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with software development life cycles (SDLC).
  • Familiarity with federal project management regulations and policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
