About the position

The SPLC is seeking a Project Manager committed to advancing racial equity in Alabama! Consistent with its mission, vision and strategic impact goals, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is instituting a service delivery model in each of the five states it operates focused on and informed by local concerns, context, strategy, solutions and collaboration. The ‘State Offices’ will add capacity to the Center and its efforts to collaboratively address issues unique and proximate to each state and to drive long-term, transformational/structural change. Through its state office model SPLC will elevate state and local needs, and more effectively and collaboratively employ its organization-wide capabilities and expertise in the states that it operates. Each state office will be led by a State Director who will guide their respective state-based strategy in collaboration with other Center leaders and will provide administrative leadership for the office locations.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of projects and initiatives of the Alabama State Office overall strategy and approach in partnership with the director and community organizers.
• Develop and nurture relationships with colleagues, community-based organizations, system leaders, and other local community stakeholders to inform and advance the Alabama State Office goals and initiatives.
• Support the design and execution of specific programmatic initiatives that advance the Alabama State Office strategy such as community convenings, training, and advocacy projects.
• Uphold our JEDI principles by seeking diverse collaborators and partners that can deliver genuine, authentic and impactful work while ensuring their contributions are directed towards the shared mission, vision and values of the center and the Alabama State Office.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years project management experience.
• High school diploma or GED.

Benefits

• Minimum starting salary is $64,202.00 annually ($30.87 per hour). Salary will be commensurate with experience.
