About the position

The Project Manager - Alternative Delivery will oversee the execution of projects within the NYC Housing Preservation Trust's Modernization & Preservation Program. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to manage comprehensive renovations of public housing developments, ensuring projects are completed successfully and in alignment with the Trust's values of resident empowerment, action-oriented excellence, future-forward resilience, informed innovation, and collaborative strength.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project management of specific projects in the Trust's Modernization & Preservation Program.
  • Partner with Trust and NYCHA stakeholders to prepare project requirements and award contracts.
  • Manage day-to-day activities to advance the Modernization project, including leading project meetings and monitoring project scopes.
  • Coordinate reviews of project-specific technical and administrative submittals and resolve conflicts.
  • Attend on-site meetings during all project phases and report project status to senior leadership.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets throughout all phases of delivery.
  • Manage technical staff and consultants, collaborating with the Trust's Owner's Advisor and Owner's Representative teams.
  • Coordinate capital project work with ongoing Resident Partnerships activities.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration, or public administration.
  • Five years of full-time satisfactory experience in planning, administering, or expediting engineering design or construction, with two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Alternatively, a four-year high school diploma and nine years of relevant experience, with two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • An accredited Master's degree or a valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect may substitute for one year of required experience.
