About the position

The Project Manager (APQP Focus) role at Tech USA involves leading and coordinating projects for major Automotive OEMs, focusing on the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process. The position requires collaboration with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful project delivery from inception to production. The role is essential in driving project milestones, managing customer relationships, and ensuring adherence to quality and cost metrics.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate projects with external customers and within the company to meet target milestones.
• Lead the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process for new product launches.
• Deliver programs to manufacturing locations at stable volume metrics in the areas of cost, quality, and delivery.
• Act as customer liaison for program progress.
• Develop and monitor a time-based APQP achievement plan reporting APQP program deliverables.
• Lead program development progress/stage reviews reporting program status.
• Assist in the preparation of quotation packages based on sound engineering judgment.
• Suggest and evaluate cost savings proposals.
• Lead and actively participate in evaluation of continuous improvement activities.
• Lead problem-solving activities.
• Act as liaison between facilities within the organization.
• Give direction to program team members as necessary to meet program objectives.
• Perform all other responsibilities as designated by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience
• Automotive product development experience; prefer minimum 5 years
• Familiarity with ISO/TS16949, APQP and PPAP procedures and deliverables
• Strategic and forward thinking
• Team leadership skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, focus on summary style communications and presentation skills
• Problem solving skills; emphasis on driving problem definition and real root cause
• Data driven analysis
• Conflict resolution, negotiation skills, ability to drive to a potential compromise
• Strong computer skills with the Microsoft Office Suite; Microsoft Project desirable
• Ability to manage and lead multiple deliverables to deadlines
