About the position

The Project Manager position at East Coast Metal Systems, Inc. involves overseeing various aspects of project management within the architectural metals sector. The role requires strong AutoCAD skills and focuses on ensuring project accuracy, managing costs, and facilitating communication among team members and contractors. The Project Manager will be responsible for the execution of projects from inception to closeout, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality control throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Review shop drawings and submittal packages for accuracy
• Responsible for drawing development based on measurements
• Communicate with Engineers, Drafters, and other Project Managers
• Assist in execution of contractor bid process
• Manage project costs for materials and labor
• Monitor approved projects
• Assist in weekly tasks and job meetings during capital projects
• Prepare and execute product delivery to construction site in a timely manner
• Track panel orders and schedule deliveries according to construction schedule
• Assist with project closeout including punch lists and final invoicing
• Solicit and maintain communication with contractors and vendors
• Inspect capital projects for compliance with specifications and quality control
• Review proposed change orders and their validity
• Review architecture plans for completeness and compliance with standards
• Attend meetings, conferences, and/or seminars as directed
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as required or assigned

Requirements

• 2-year AutoCAD degree or equivalent
• AutoCAD experience
• Ability to read design drawings
• Eagerness to grow and learn about the construction and manufacturing industry
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills, both internal and external
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment

Nice-to-haves

• 3-5 years of experience producing shop drawings for metal panels or curtain wall
• Experience reading construction project specifications
• Knowledge of the construction industry and building codes
• 1-2 years' experience in project management
