About the position

The Senior Project Manager at The Cook & Boardman Group, LLC is responsible for overseeing and managing projects in the AV industry, ensuring customer needs are met through effective communication and logistics management. This role requires a high level of technical understanding and project management skills, as well as the ability to mentor less experienced project managers. The Senior Project Manager will handle a large volume of work with minimal supervision, coordinating with sales and detailing teams to resolve issues and deliver projects on time.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and respond to customer inquiries via phone and email, ensuring replies within 24 hours.
  • Follow up with customers by sending final hardware or other schedules for approval.
  • Communicate changes and progress of schedules to customers promptly.
  • Contact customers before job site deliveries to ensure proper scheduling and fulfillment of delivery commitments.
  • Coordinate meetings according to customer schedules and provide summaries to salespersons.
  • Anticipate customer needs and solicit feedback on performance.
  • Develop solutions for customers and salespersons regarding technical issues with hardware and door products.
  • Monitor production schedules and maintain orderly project files.
  • Manage project changes, revisions, and documentation effectively.
  • Attend sales meetings to provide input on customer service issues and document meeting notes.
  • Mentor less experienced project managers in industry practices and applications.
  • Assist in interviewing and training new project managers.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with all project managers from various teams.
  • Manage large low-margin projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in the industry.
  • Proven project management experience with a high technical understanding of products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Functional knowledge of computers and software applications.
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Good mathematical skills and understanding of basic construction skills.
