About the position

Vaco Technology is currently seeking a Project Manager for a 6-month plus contract opportunity that is 100% remote-based. The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering multiple simultaneous projects on time and within budget, with a strong focus on achieving business outcomes. This role requires effective team management, budgeting, planning, and scheduling to ensure project success. The Project Manager will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from inception to completion, managing IS application, infrastructure, and security project execution. In this position, the Project Manager will lead project teams, defining project scope, deliverables, resources, timing, and budgeting. They will manage project execution through resource planning, risk and issue management, financial management, implementation planning, and scope management. Establishing overall project schedules, key milestones, and dependencies will be crucial to the role. The Project Manager will direct project tasks to ensure that projects progress on schedule and within budget, while also identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within project teams. Effective communication is key, as the Project Manager will need to communicate project risks, issues, and corrective actions to senior management and other appropriate stakeholders. They will prepare implementation impact analyses and communicate plans effectively to all involved parties. Additionally, the Project Manager will manage project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans as necessary. Coaching, mentoring, and motivating project teams will be essential to ensure accountability for assigned work. The role also involves managing project forecasting, purchasing, and expenditures tracking, as well as developing and maintaining comprehensive project documentation. Monitoring project progress against functional and business objectives and obtaining project signoff upon completion through customer satisfaction and acceptance testing are also critical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage IS application, infrastructure, and security project execution from inception to completion.

Requirements

• 3+ years of project management experience, specifically in IS application, infrastructure, and security project execution.
• Experience in cloud migration project management, particularly managing data center migrations to the Azure Cloud platform.
• Strong skills in project execution management, including project scoping, resource planning, budgeting, risk/issue management, and financial management.
• Ability to prepare implementation impact analyses, evaluating potential effects of projects on business processes, technology infrastructure, data management, user experience, security/compliance, costs/budget, and change management.
• Experience in managing project forecasting, purchasing, and expenditures tracking.
• Proficient in developing and maintaining detailed project documentation.
• Strong coaching, mentoring, and motivational skills for project teams.

Nice-to-haves

• PMP - Project Management Professional certification is preferred.
• Experience with SmartSheets is strongly preferred.
• Technical knowledge in infrastructure and Azure Cloud.
