About the position

The Project Manager for BWH Rheumatology will oversee multiple research projects, including a NIH-sponsored patient-recruitment study and the BWH VERITY Bioinformatics Core. This role involves project administration, planning, and implementing study protocols, while working closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and managing staff. The Project Manager will also coordinate study-related activities, design data collection instruments, and maintain internal review board protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the project manager for a clinical research and applied bioinformatics lab.
  • Coordinate clinical trials and observational studies, including planning, regulatory approval, and data management.
  • Supervise staff involved in recruitment, study visits, and participant communications.
  • Provide insight on project development and strategy.
  • Oversee training and coaching of research assistants and students.
  • Act as the primary contact for research studies and IRB protocols.
  • Contribute to writing progress and regulatory reports, and manuscript writing.
  • Develop methods and design studies, including recruitment strategies and data collection protocols.
  • Independently develop data tracking systems and maintain records on research subjects.
  • Evaluate subjects for eligibility and conduct surveys and focus group discussions.
  • Communicate regularly with PIs and research teams about research projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Experience with Excel, Access, and SAS.
  • Experience working with Epic.
  • Experience with R programming preferred.

  • Experience with NIH-funded studies.
  • Familiarity with clinical research protocols.
