About the position

As a member of the Strategic Implementation team within the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) of State Street Global Advisors, you will join a global project management team responsible for the most strategic cross-functional initiatives across Global Advisors. This role is crucial in enabling the business to drive necessary changes within the organization, whether these changes are driven by growth ambitions, regulatory or industry shifts, client needs, or internal efficiency requirements. Projects are managed within a Change Management Framework to ensure adherence to relevant governance and oversight controls. We are currently hiring for a Project Manager position based in Boston, where the successful candidate will lead multiple projects concurrently and/or manage a large program with various workstreams. This is a full-time role that requires four days in the office and one day of remote work each week. The team you will be joining is part of State Street Global Advisors, one of the largest asset managers globally, providing services to governments, institutions, and financial advisors worldwide. Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple projects or a large program, ensuring overall execution and workstream management.
  • Ensure adherence to the Change Management Framework and report to senior management.
  • Manage issue resolution and handle necessary escalations.
  • Collaborate and facilitate discussions with business functions across SSGA and external partners to deliver projects.
  • Establish the project structure required to execute and drive progress with clear accountability from stakeholders.
  • Define activities required to achieve project outcomes and drive completion of deliverables.
  • Communicate and track progress, dependencies, assumptions, roles, responsibilities, issues, risks, and key milestones.
  • Escalate risks and issues promptly to the required governance level with mitigation proposals.
  • Produce, maintain, and manage approval of project documentation in alignment with tollgate requirements.
  • Manage adherence to project scope and ensure focus on expected outcomes and deliverables.
  • Engage stakeholders to identify opportunities for process alignment and standardization.
  • Communicate project updates clearly and transparently to all relevant parties, including senior management committees and regulatory forums.
  • Embed process ownership and knowledge into business lines throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts as they arise, engaging appropriate parties.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience within the finance industry.
  • Prior project management experience is required.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Experience in establishing an organized and structured approach to change initiatives with awareness of business risk.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with business and technology partners.
  • Comfort interacting with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to establish clear accountability and ownership for project deliverables across teams.
  • Self-motivated and productive colleague with a sense of urgency to keep plans on course.
  • Talent for driving creative thinking and collaboration to surface strategic solutions.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
