About the position

The Civil Engineering Project Manager at Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services (AE2S) in Williston, ND, is a pivotal role that requires a blend of technical expertise and managerial skills. The Project Manager will oversee the performance of project team members, ensuring that high-quality deliverables are provided to clients on time and within budget. This position demands a proactive approach to project management, where the individual will work closely with engineers and technicians to facilitate the successful execution of civil engineering projects. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including the preparation of design plans, specifications, reports, and project budgets, as well as the coordination of sub-consultants and contractors. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Project Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing client relationships. This includes identifying and pursuing new project opportunities, as well as managing existing client accounts. The Project Manager will also be responsible for quality control and assurance across all project work, ensuring that the standards of AE2S are met consistently. Effective communication is key, as the Project Manager will coordinate and facilitate both internal and external meetings to ensure all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle. Overall, this position is designed for a dynamic individual who is not only skilled in civil engineering but also possesses strong leadership and communication abilities to drive project success and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional services for civil engineering projects including design, plans, specifications, reports, project budgets, scope of work, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, and coordination of sub-consultants and contractors.
  • Manage performance of assigned project team members including Project Engineers, Junior Engineers, and Technicians.
  • Maintain existing client relationships and enhance pursued relationships with clients.
  • Assist in identifying, evaluating, pursuing, and managing project opportunities.
  • Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work.
  • Maintain budgets and schedules of project assignments.
  • Maintain quality client relationships and communication.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
  • 5+ years of experience in civil engineering project management.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets and schedules effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AutoCAD and other engineering design software.
  • Familiarity with environmental engineering practices.
  • Project management certification (PMP or equivalent).
