About the position

As a Civil Engineer/Project Manager at Design Group, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on delivering high-quality engineering solutions to leading companies in various industries. This role involves overseeing site design and planning activities, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. You will leverage your expertise in civil engineering to perform due diligence, create construction documents, and manage permitting processes, all while fostering a culture of leadership and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform due diligence for site selection and site planning activities, including preliminary local zoning and environmental evaluation.
  • Assist in site plan design for industrial facility applications, including conceptual drainage and grading.
  • Complete hydraulic calculations and analysis, preparing reports in acceptable formats for jurisdictional authorities.
  • Supervise design using analysis software and AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCad.
  • Create and assemble a complete set of site construction documents.
  • Develop specifications on a project-specific basis using company templates and interface with cross-functional project teams.
  • Prepare and administer site plan and environmental-related permit applications through approval, attending on-site meetings and workshops as necessary.
  • Stay updated on changes in codes and industry standards at state and national levels.
  • Oversee and administer the activities of other civil consultants, such as Geotech and Surveying.
  • Read and evaluate various reports, including land surveys, geotechnical engineering reports, and environmental assessments.

Requirements

  • 6 years of site design and engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Experience with permitting at federal, state, regional, county, and local levels.
  • Some experience in industrial site design.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Experience performing field facility condition assessments.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete site design and report writing.
  • Supervisory skills with support and design staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in industrial automation and control system integration.
  • Familiarity with Low Impact Development (LID) plans.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance.
