About the position

As a Project Manager for Commercial Doors, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the successful execution of projects related to commercial doors, frames, hardware, and related products. This position requires a strong understanding of the commercial door industry, as you will be responsible for managing all aspects of projects from initial planning to final installation and client hand-off. You will collaborate closely with clients to understand their project requirements and develop detailed project plans that align with their needs. Your ability to source and coordinate with vendors will be essential to ensure the timely delivery of materials and products, which is critical for maintaining project schedules. In this role, you will oversee and manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring that all projects are completed within the established parameters. Effective communication is key, as you will be responsible for providing regular updates on project progress to clients, internal teams, and stakeholders. You will also ensure that all projects comply with industry codes, standards, and regulations, addressing and resolving any project-related issues or delays that may arise. Maintaining accurate project documentation and records will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that all project details are well-documented for future reference. This position requires a proactive approach to project management, with a focus on delivering high-quality results that meet client expectations. Your experience in the commercial door and hardware industry will be invaluable as you navigate the complexities of each project, ensuring that all aspects are executed smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of commercial door projects, from initial planning to final installation and client hand-off.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and develop detailed project plans.
  • Source and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
  • Oversee and manage project budget, timelines, and resources.
  • Communicate project progress and updates to clients, internal teams, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all projects meet industry codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Address and resolve any project-related issues or delays.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in project management, preferably in the commercial doors industry.
  • Commercial Door and Hardware project manager, detailer, or estimator experience.
  • Experience with commercial door software such as Comsense, E/pws, Avaware, etc.
  • Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with door manufacturers like ASSA ABLOY, Ceco, Allegion, Corbin Russwin, Schlage, Von Duprin, and Trim is a plus.
