About the position

The Project Manager for Commercial & Industrial at Stantec Buildings will lead the planning and execution of complex design projects, ensuring they are fiscally responsible and meet sustainability goals. This role involves managing teams of architects, engineers, and consultants to deliver award-winning designs while mentoring junior staff and maintaining client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex tasks on multiple, large scope, highly complex projects.
  • Participate in interviews to win work for potential projects.
  • Plan, organize, and direct project work to successfully deliver to clients.
  • Lead project teams to ensure design meets budget, schedule, and intent.
  • Assist in negotiating and developing project agreements.
  • Develop and manage project budget, schedule, and work plan.
  • Mentor Assistant Project Managers and motivate project teams.
  • Ensure timely completion and documentation of Project Management Framework tasks.
  • Lead project coordination and meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage change orders and applications for payment by contractors.
  • Work with Operations Manager to determine project staffing needs.
  • Direct client invoicing and manage collections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management roles.
  • Registered Architect or Registered Engineer preferred.
  • LEED Green Associate or LEED AP desired but not required.
  • PMP Certification desired but not required.
  • Extensive project experience to support winning work during proposals.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Project and NewForma preferred.
