The Project Manager for Construction and Maintenance at PNM is responsible for overseeing the timely and efficient management of utility construction and maintenance projects that range from moderate to complex in engineering scope. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the work management process utilized throughout Construction and Reliability. The Project Manager will be tasked with planning, scheduling, and estimating all necessary engineering, craft, and non-labor resources to ensure successful project completion. The position is based in Albuquerque, NM, and the successful candidate will be expected to work in the office five days a week. In this role, the Project Manager will manage electric projects that include residential, industrial, and large commercial developments, as well as major system improvements and electric transmission projects. A significant aspect of the job involves negotiating and managing construction and maintenance contracts, ensuring that all work is completed to the required standards. The Project Manager will also be responsible for communicating engineering design recommendations during site visits and making critical project decisions that involve complex engineering problems. The position requires the ability to determine labor and non-labor resource requirements, assess resource availability, and make decisions regarding resource reallocation. The Project Manager will develop a yearly master schedule that encompasses all preventative maintenance and capital projects, ensuring that both internal and external customer needs are met. Additionally, the role involves compiling and reporting Key Process Indicators to senior management, leading performance and cost studies, and providing training and technical assistance to other project managers.
