About the position

The Project Manager for the Construction Installations Group at Bloom Energy is responsible for overseeing the deployment of Commercial and Industrial Fuel Cell projects. This role involves managing project schedules, costs, and risks, ensuring compliance with technical and governmental standards, and maintaining customer satisfaction throughout the installation process. The position requires strong project management skills and experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly in distributed energy solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Define the baseline schedule and execution strategy following customer contract execution.
  • Manage cost, schedule, and risks using project management fundamentals.
  • Negotiate and fulfill design and construction contracts.
  • Complete construction and project documentation to meet all technical and governmental standards.
  • Conduct regulatory outreach and permit acquisition.
  • Manage the gas and electrical utility interconnection process.
  • Develop construction bid documents.
  • Oversee project commissioning.
  • Interface regularly with internal Bloom Energy cross-functional resources and subject matter experts.
  • Participate in Bloom Energy's product offering innovation process.
  • Ensure exemplary safety and performance metrics during site construction and commissioning.
  • Deliver presentations confidently to all project stakeholders and sell new ideas to senior leadership and customers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of project management experience including 2+ years of distributed energy solution experience.
  • Experience managing multiple, schedule-constrained, large capital projects with multiple contractors.
  • Strong preference for renewable energy experience at scales less than 50 MW.
  • Experience managing budgets with an understanding of earned value forecasting, schedules, design contracts, and construction contracts.
  • Experience working with gas and electrical utilities and leading local, state, and federal permitting efforts.
  • Extremely organized with the ability to communicate project status and risk mitigation strategies to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams of subject matter experts.
  • B.S. in Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical) or other technical degrees (Construction Management, Architecture, etc.) required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software programs such as Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
