About the position

The Project Manager position at PROTECS is a pivotal role responsible for leading construction projects from conceptual phases through to completion. This role involves overseeing subcontractors, design firms, and project teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients. The Project Manager will also focus on building relationships with clients and identifying new project opportunities, particularly in the life sciences and high-tech sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead key projects from conceptual phases through construction and commissioning/close-out.
  • Oversee and direct subcontractors, design firms, project managers, and project engineers.
  • Develop a functional working relationship with the Project Superintendent.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, within budget, on schedule, and meet quality standards.
  • Conceptualize plans to execute projects and clarify logistics and workflow activities for team members.
  • Build and extend relationships with new and existing clients to create project opportunities.

Requirements

  • Experience managing projects in excess of $5MM or multiple concurrent projects over $1MM.
  • Knowledge of risk management and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship development skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues effectively.
  • Experience in team participation and collaboration.
  • Ability to independently manage workload and commitments.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to evaluate the overall project viewpoint.
  • Knowledge of life sciences and advanced technology industry specifics.
  • Understanding of construction cost and schedule impact/control.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Blue Beam, Planswift, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project or Primavera, Timberline, PROCORE.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in longer-term planning and revenue building.
  • Familiarity with strategic procurement and schedule planning.
  • Ability to identify potential project pitfalls and resolutions.
