About the position

The Project Manager at Hubbard Construction Company will oversee the daily operations of construction projects valued between $5M and $100M. This role is crucial for ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining quality and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises on-site Project Superintendents and Project Engineers.
  • Prepares all notification documents regarding power, water, and fire utilities.
  • Responsible for the technique, economic, and operations plan.
  • Negotiates with the client.
  • Participates in the estimating process.
  • Optimizes operations means and methods with Project Engineers.
  • Controls the progress of operations to meet objectives.
  • Determines suppliers and subcontractors in collaboration with the Division Manager and Contracts Department.
  • Develops project schedule.
  • Prepares and assists in weekly project update meetings.
  • Participates in division weekly meetings.
  • Ensures project quality and respects commitments with the client.
  • Reviews and approves all change order requests.
  • Completes project budget and controls project expenses.
  • Responsible for billing control and approves invoices.
  • Prepares the final quantities report and ensures accuracy of CPSR projections.
  • Actively participates in training of all Construction Engineers and recruiting candidates.
  • Responsible for Performance Evaluations for all employees assigned to the project.
  • Recommends and proposes technical solutions (innovative products and processes).
  • Maintains professional relationships with clients and participates in the final acceptance of the project.
  • Responsible for maintaining safety on the project at all times.
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent work experience).
  • 10+ years of experience on large design-build heavy/highway projects.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and practices, including paving, underground, concrete, and grading.
  • Thorough knowledge of heavy civil construction equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
