About the position

The Project Manager at Hubbard Construction Company will oversee the daily operations of construction projects valued between $5M and $100M. This role is crucial for ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining quality and compliance with company policies. The Project Manager will supervise on-site teams, manage project schedules, and maintain client relationships, contributing to the successful delivery of complex construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for construction projects ranging from $5M to $100M.
  • Supervise on-site Project Superintendents and Project Engineers.
  • Prepare notification documents regarding utilities such as power, water, and fire.
  • Negotiate with clients and participate in the estimating process.
  • Optimize operations means and methods with Project Engineers.
  • Control project progress to meet objectives and develop project schedules.
  • Prepare and assist in weekly project update meetings and participate in division meetings.
  • Ensure project quality and compliance with commitments to clients.
  • Review and approve all change order requests and manage project budgets.
  • Control project expenses and approve invoices.
  • Prepare final quantities report and ensure accuracy of CPSR projections.
  • Participate in training and recruiting of Construction Engineers.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for project employees and recommend technical solutions.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients and participate in final project acceptance.
  • Ensure safety compliance on the project at all times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent work experience).
  • 10+ years of experience on large design-build heavy/highway projects.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques and practices, including paving, underground, concrete, and grading.
  • Thorough knowledge of heavy civil construction equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with innovative products and processes in construction.
  • Familiarity with project management software.
