About the position

The Project Manager, Director of Development at Cognizant Management Solutions is responsible for overseeing restaurant openings and healthcare building projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. This role requires extensive experience in construction management, particularly in casual dining and quick-serve restaurant projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, innovative problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee restaurant openings and healthcare building projects from start to finish.
  • Control project costs by negotiating and optimizing resource allocations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and key team members to meet project specifications.
  • Plan and maintain critical path scheduling to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Review drawings and specifications for design deficiencies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality standards.
  • Resolve scope deviations from clients, vendors, or contractors.
  • Analyze financial information including budgets and expenditures to assess project health.
  • Manage project closeout processes including punch list completion and final submissions.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Implement quality control measures to meet project deliverables and client expectations.
  • Provide routine maintenance and repair for corporate buildings.
  • Promote high-quality control and safety standards on all projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years construction project management experience.
  • Working knowledge with permitting blueprints required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years proven experience in construction project management.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience reading CAD drawings.
  • Must be fully proficient in AutoCAD.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 6 years relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction estimating and project coordination techniques.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with construction management software tools is preferred.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
