About the position

The Project Manager at Leidos will play a crucial role in supporting various electric utility clients by overseeing engineering design projects within the Power Delivery Solutions division. This position involves managing project performance, costs, schedules, and ensuring compliance with contracts while collaborating with engineering teams and clients. Responsibilities

  • Assist project teams in completing engineering design of electric infrastructure projects for utility customers.
  • Be responsible for overall project performance and reporting.
  • Manage project costs, schedule, and scope, including developing recovery plans.
  • Ensure contract compliance and drive work products by coordinating with Engineering Leads and Managers.
  • Document adherence to the quality control process.
  • Interface directly with clients and internal management to solve issues and report on project progress, costs, and risks.
  • Communicate with clients, internal project teams, and subcontractors.
  • Assist with the preparation of bid documents and cost estimates.
  • Complete monthly client invoicing and accounts receivable within prescribed time frames.
  • Identify potential business development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant Project Management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management software (e.g., Workfront, MS Project, P6).
  • Experience with MS Office Software, particularly proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookup, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience managing project financials, scopes, and schedules.
  • Capability to plan, organize, direct, and track technical efforts on project tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP Certification is preferred but not required; desire to obtain PMP Certification within two years.
  • Previous experience working with various contract types including Fixed Price and Time & Material.
  • Direct experience with utilities.
  • Previous exposure to projects for major US electric utilities.
  • Demonstrated success with a team approach to the consulting business.
