About the position

The Project Manager - Electrical is responsible for overseeing and managing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and budgetary standards. This role involves coordinating with various teams, developing project execution plans, and maintaining communication with clients and stakeholders. The Project Manager will also lead a high-performance project team and ensure that all contractual obligations are met while promoting continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead projects from conceptual stages through to completion, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.
  • Assist Business Development in expanding work scope and developing proposal strategies.
  • Supervise the development of project budgets and schedules, and manage performance to meet project objectives.
  • Resolve problems and coordinate the final turnover of the project to the customer.
  • Provide leadership for the development and maintenance of a high-performance project team.
  • Establish an integrated organizational structure and communicate roles and responsibilities to project team members.
  • Monitor and control all contractual commitments and ensure compliance with specifications and drawings.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of project execution reviews and control systems.
  • Identify quality requirements and implement processes to achieve contractual quality standards.
  • Oversee Environmental, Health & Safety programs for office and field work environments.
  • Coordinate documentation and software turnover package to the client at project completion.
  • Review and approve bid tabulations for major purchase orders and contracts.
  • Prepare and present Project Status Reports to management.
  • Monitor cash flow and establish budgets for non-reimbursable project costs.
  • Assist in training new project managers and project personnel.
  • Promote continuous improvement among project team members and lead the CI process for the customer and Lemartec.
  • Conduct periodic project and customer meetings to facilitate communication and review progress.
  • Document turnover activities and obtain final acceptance from the customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction, or 5 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience as a Project Manager on commercial and/or industrial projects overseeing electrical scope of work.
  • Knowledge of Lemartec organization, policies, procedures, and programs including QA/QC and Safety.
  • Knowledge of industry technology and EPC work processes.
  • Ability to effectively organize and staff a project team in a matrix organization.
  • Knowledge of front-end activities including Best Practices, Constructability, Risk Analysis, and Estimate/Proposal Review Process.
  • Proficiency in planning and scheduling utilizing Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with lump sum, GMP, and reimbursable projects.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in prime contract and subcontract formulation, risk analysis, and negotiations.
