About the position

The Energy Solutions (ES) Project Manager (PM) is responsible for managing multiple Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects of varying sizes and complexities from start to finish. This includes overseeing proposals, bids, project design, quality control, job scheduling, problem resolution, job completion, coordination, communication, and client satisfaction activities, all in alignment with company policies, procedures, key objectives, and regulations. The PM assists or manages job estimating, project budgets, projections, and contracts, job solicitation, and project negotiations. Additionally, the PM may be responsible for training, mentoring, and providing work direction to other project team members. In a typical day, the PM directs all phases and activities of each project to achieve high quality and productivity. This involves creating project plans, quotations, bidding, budgeting, monitoring projections, scheduling testing procedures, and establishing performance goals and standards. The PM ensures that all plans and specifications accurately identify project scope and milestones, and that they are shared professionally with all relevant parties. The role also requires the PM to prepare and manage timely and accurate project documents, including status reports, estimates, projections, material release schedules, client information, project schedules, purchase orders, monthly invoices, payments, closeout documents, warranties, drawings, maintenance manuals, final billings, change orders, and cost codes. The PM maintains and manages submittal logs, provides staffing and account management support, customer service, and new business development as needed. They document methods of procedure (MOPs) and ensure that all field personnel have the necessary materials, tools, plans, schedules, and directions for their work. The PM is responsible for securing subcontractors, obtaining permits, procuring materials, and ensuring that all plans and documents are maintained in the appropriate systems. Regular attendance at project update meetings is required to stay current on job scope, schedules, administrative needs, and market conditions. The PM provides day-to-day direction to project foremen or superintendents and/or design staff as needed to monitor productivity goals and foster teamwork. They also partner with project foremen and team members to conduct jobsite inspections and safety audits, ensuring compliance with contract documents and the company's quality assurance and safety standards. The PM stays informed of new electrical and safety codes, materials, technologies, techniques, and practices, ensuring that all safety programs and OSHA requirements are followed. This position may also involve oversight on BIM and/or building design and construction phases, as well as assisting with civil construction projects and technologies construction projects as needed. The PM consistently makes decisions in a safe manner to ensure the health and safety of themselves and others, utilizing LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure efficient operations, processes, and activities. The PM promotes and models the company mission, vision, and values through ethical business practices and champions diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in all interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Procure materials and negotiate with vendors on availability and pricing.
  • Conduct job start-up meetings and attend project update meetings regularly.
  • Provide day-to-day direction to project foremen and team members to monitor productivity goals.
  • Conduct jobsite inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with quality assurance and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and team leadership skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance throughout project lifecycle.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of general sitework and utility installation standard practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid Software or other Civil Estimating Software.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu.
  • Traffic signal and street lighting experience.
