About the position

The Project Manager/Engineer 1 at EnergySolutions is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, execution, and closeout of engineering projects within budget and schedule constraints. This role involves coordinating resources, leading project teams, and ensuring compliance with engineering principles and industry standards. The position requires effective communication with stakeholders and the ability to manage project scope, costs, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design oversight, execution, and closeout of assigned projects within budget and schedule.
• Acquire resources and coordinate efforts of team members, including contractors and consultants.
• Provide leadership and direction to project personnel and ensure project scope is accomplished.
• Liaise with project stakeholders and manage scope changes, documenting changes to the Statement of Work.
• Update baseline budget and schedule, tracking project costs and directing accounting for invoicing.
• Act as the primary interface between EnergySolutions and clients, providing project status updates.
• Initiate and develop equipment and system designs, taking them from concept to commissioning.
• Perform engineering calculations and ensure compliance with project and code requirements.
• Generate Process Flow Diagrams, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Process Data Sheets.
• Assist in the preparation and approval of design documents and plant modifications.
• Provide technical expertise to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
• Ensure compliance with national codes and standards in Mechanical and Chemical Engineering disciplines.
• Perform independent research and analyses in support of plant changes and design modifications.
• Support installation and testing of site systems and components.
• Participate in the preparation of cost estimates for engineering services and coordinate work assignments.
• Ensure all activities are performed safely and in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Effective negotiation skills.
• Strong communication skills for presenting design media to clients.
• Advanced knowledge of Process Equipment design software and Microsoft Office.
• Detailed knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application.
• Knowledge of industry codes and regulations.
• Experience in managing complex engineering projects.
