About the position

The Project Manager Engineer will oversee New Product Development and product enhancement projects, ensuring successful and timely commercial launches. This role involves managing multiple projects, monitoring cost, schedule, and technical performance, and guiding project teams to meet objectives while adhering to company procedures and the Stage Gate approval process.

Responsibilities

  • Manage New Product Development and product enhancement projects to successful and timely commercial launches.
  • Contribute to the definition of project strategy and guide project core and sub-teams to deliver on project objectives.
  • Monitor cost, schedule, and technical performance of component projects and operations.
  • Build and manage project teams, reporting to the Project Stakeholder, ensuring quality control throughout the product life cycles.
  • Develop and manage a product roadmap with high-level milestone plans, resources, and budget information.
  • Execute product lifecycle plans (quality, risk, communication, staffing, etc.) using standard processes and tools.
  • Manage project change in accordance with the change management process.
  • Address project issues by identifying and selecting a course of action that considers project constraints and objectives.
  • Motivate the team using appropriate tools and techniques to increase commitment to project objectives.
  • Capture Project status and data by ensuring the population of the Project management information system.
  • Recognize contributions and praise team members for a job well done.
  • Support team building and encourage respect and cooperation among team members.
  • Determine if external consultants or contractors are required to complete project plans and manage staffing resources accordingly.
  • Track and report on project milestones and measure performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Improve team performance by building cohesiveness, leading, mentoring, training, and motivating team members.
  • Complete a post-project evaluation to determine how well results were achieved.
  • Develop tools and best practices for project management and execution.
  • Act as a mediator between stakeholders and team members.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years' work experience in project management
  • 3+ years of experience with product line

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • PMI Certification is a major asset
