About the position

The Project Manager - Engineering is responsible for overseeing contract administration within the Public Works Engineering Division's Capital Improvement Program. This role involves managing public infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with various regulations, and collaborating with city departments and external stakeholders to promote positive relationships and effective project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate public infrastructure projects and programs in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Direct the work and assignments of field employees assigned to specific projects.
  • Collaborate with other city departments and represent the City positively in relationships with consultants, citizens, and other agencies.
  • Complete engineering administrative functions in the management of programs, preparation of budgets, and completion of research/reports.

Requirements

  • An Associates degree in Construction or Contract Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven years of progressively responsible employment experience in municipal engineering practices and principles.
  • An equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position may be considered.
