About the position

The Project Manager-EPC/General Contractor position at CLP Engineering is a part-time role focused on overseeing federal government construction projects. The role requires a strong understanding of project management principles and federal regulations, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of federal government projects from initial planning through project closeout.
  • Work with department managers and project engineers to develop budgets, schedules, and construction service plans.
  • Review design documents for compliance with company standards and project scope.
  • Generate and distribute reports on project phases and financial performance.
  • Lead project meetings including pre-award, pre-construction, project progress, and final close-out.
  • Develop and maintain effective client relations.
  • Coordinate with Site Superintendent to develop site logistics plans and personnel assignments.
  • Oversee the procurement process, cost control, and change management systems.
  • Perform field inspections to verify quality and accuracy of construction as needed.
  • Set up QA/QC procedures and conduct quality inspections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Five to ten years of experience managing medium to large sized federal projects.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Experience working with blueprints, specifications, and proposals for time/cost/labor estimates.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with federal government construction projects.
  • Ability to delegate work appropriately.
  • Experience managing multi-discipline teams of engineers and technicians.
