About the position

The Project Manager for the EPC Team at CSI Electrical Contractors is responsible for leading and managing utility scale solar and BESS energy projects in California. This role involves ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining high quality standards. The Project Manager will oversee all project activities from pre-construction through to commercial operation, focusing on client management and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Drive high quality, efficient engineering, estimating, contracting, and execution of utility scale solar and BESS projects.
  • Establish and manage a positive safety program and culture on the project.
  • Develop and implement the Project Execution Plan (PEP) to prevent quality defects and ensure a safe workplace.
  • Manage client relationships throughout the project lifecycle, providing regular updates and solutions to any issues.
  • Lead project planning and ensure adherence to the project schedule, including engineering, permitting, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.
  • Conduct effective meetings and review project metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Develop the project organizational chart and ensure adequate resources are provided to meet schedule and budget requirements.
  • Manage all financial aspects of the project, including budget, cash flow, and invoicing processes.
  • Facilitate the transition of estimates from business development to construction teams.
  • Lead the change management process with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure the growth and skill development of the project team.
  • Communicate project status and needs to leadership, focusing on safety, quality, schedule, risks, and client relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction management with a proven background in construction.
  • 3+ years of self-perform construction experience.
  • Experience in utility scale solar projects is required.
  • LEED AP certification is recommended.
  • Cal OSHA 30-hour Construction training certification is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and scheduling software (Primavera 6, Microsoft Project).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Database experience is a plus.
