Northeast Paving is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team in Northfield, MA. The Estimator will be responsible for the preparation and review of assigned roadway construction and/or asphalt paving estimate packages. This role involves implementing department standards and procedures while ensuring the accuracy and completeness of estimate packages. The company primarily engages in construction activities that include asphalt paving and resurfacing, bridge construction, earthwork and grading, roadway construction and rehabilitation, and highway work. The Estimator will read and review plans, proposals, specifications, RFPs, and other pertinent project-related documents necessary to develop competent and competitive estimate and bid packages. This includes soliciting estimates from various subcontractors and vendors to prepare comprehensive estimate packages. The Estimator will also prepare reports and analyses pertinent to estimating as requested by management, review established labor, equipment, and material costs for the preparation of estimate and bid packages, and produce detailed, final contract estimates for primarily Asphalt Paving and Roadway/Site Development Projects. In addition, the Estimator will assess project exposures and construction risks, analyze costs, and reflect these in estimates. They will identify potential construction issues through the estimating process and suggest value-engineering alternatives to enhance project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
