About the position

The Project Manager-EVSE position at HDR involves managing and leading transportation electrification projects, focusing on the planning and design of various electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructures. The role emphasizes building client relationships, researching electric vehicle charging solutions, and ensuring project delivery while mentoring junior staff and supporting business development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the delivery of transportation electrification projects.
  • Conduct field visits and recommend charger types/sizes for EV design tasks.
  • Develop and oversee the preparation of final design plans, specifications, and estimates for projects.
  • Lead zero emissions design projects and oversee planning and design efforts.
  • Attend and lead client and project team meetings to provide updates and resolve issues.
  • Build relationships with clients and teaming partners.
  • Mentor junior staff in their professional growth and skills enhancement.
  • Support the pursuit of new projects in partnership with leadership.
  • Provide construction phase technical support including bid addenda and submittal reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 7 years of related experience in civil or energy industry, utilities, or similar fields.
  • A minimum of 2 years project management experience.
  • Ability to interact with various design teams and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to being an active participant in the employee-owned culture.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • A/E Industry project management or task lead experience.
  • Understanding of electrical design related to AC and DC charging.
  • Working knowledge of industry best practices and regulations.
