About the position

The Project Manager for Facilities Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and performance of onsite technical staff at a large historical federal building in Washington, DC. This role focuses on administrative tasks and technical guidance in the maintenance and repair of various building systems, ensuring efficient operations without engaging in new construction. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for the site, available 24/7, and is tasked with managing maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of facility systems, while also providing training and support to the technical team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day performance of onsite technical staff.
  • Provide administrative and technical direction and supervision of staff in completing work assignments.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the site, available 24/7.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and execute maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of facility and utility systems.
  • Manage and oversee the Equipment Inventory and PM Schedule in CMMS software.
  • Ensure site safety and provide training, guidance, and coaching to technical onsite staff.
  • Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment.
  • Participate in emergency on-call/callback duties.
  • Direct site operations, work schedules, and subcontractors to meet service demands and quality requirements.
  • Meet regularly with the Site Facility Manager and customer to discuss operations, performance, project work, schedule, and budget.

Requirements

  • At least seven (7) years of project management/supervisory experience in O&M/Facilities Management.
  • Experience in the operation, management, and supervision of building mechanical maintenance operations for buildings of at least one million square feet.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain public trust federal security clearance.
  • Pass background and pre-employment drug screen.
  • Strong administrative experience and basic computing skills in Microsoft Office.
