About the position

Volt is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support Cost Optimization and Purchasing projects in Fountain Valley, CA. This role is crucial as it involves managing four high-profile projects that are detail-oriented and require meticulous task management to ensure successful completion. The Project Manager will work closely with the Senior Group Manager of Purchasing to summarize meeting agendas and objectives, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle. In this full-time hybrid position, the Project Manager will spend three days onsite and two days working from home. The role is temporary for three months, with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and project needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, particularly in creating and following project timelines using MS Project, and will be adept at creating visualizations in MS PowerPoint to effectively communicate project status and updates. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, active listening, and the ability to follow directions closely. They should be able to provide examples of previous work that showcase their PowerPoint capabilities and task management skills, including Gantt charts, Kanban boards, and meeting notes. A completed Bachelor's degree is highly preferred for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage four high-profile projects with detailed tasks that need to be managed and pushed through to completion.
  • Summarize meeting agendas and objectives in collaboration with the Senior Group Manager, Purchasing.
  • Create and follow project timelines using MS Project and develop visualizations in MS PowerPoint.
  • Ensure projects remain on track through effective communication and project timeline management.

Requirements

  • Project management experience is essential.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint for creating illustrative visualizations for meeting decks.
  • Strong communication skills to keep projects on track and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to demonstrate past work examples that showcase task management skills, including Gantt charts and Kanban boards.
  • A completed Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.

Nice-to-haves
